Oceanside to Petco Park
A good chunk of the Friar Faithful lives up the coast. Here's how to get from Oceanside to a Padres game downtown — and where to watch it back home when the drive isn't happening.
Option 1
Take the COASTER
The easiest way down is the NCTD COASTER from the Oceanside Transit Center to Santa Fe Depot in downtown San Diego. No I-5, no downtown parking, and you can have a beer on the way home.
From Santa Fe Depot, Petco Park is about a 25-minute walk through downtown, or hop the MTS Trolley toward the Gaslamp Quarter.

Option 2
Drive I-5
It's roughly 40 miles south on I-5. Outside rush hour that's under an hour; for a weeknight first pitch, leave well before you think you need to and have a parking plan — the lots closest to the ballpark fill up and cost more.
Driving back after a night game is usually the easy part: the freeway clears out and you're home by the time the postgame show wraps.
Before first pitch
Make a day of it in Oceanside
